WALANG PASOK – Several cities of the Philippines have announced the suspension of cl(–foul word(s) removed–) due to a nationwide transport strike, October 16.
Some cities have already declared class suspensions on Monday, October 16.
The government is now set as the two-day nationwide transport strike by the progressive transport group Piston as said by Aileen Lizada, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) Board Member is all geared.
This is in protest of the “looming jeepney modernization program” of the government.
The Makati City has already announced suspensions as posted on its official Facebook page.
The post says, “UPDATED ADVISORY: Cl(–foul word(s) removed–) in ALL LEVELS, in public schools, are suspended on October 16, 2017, Monday, due to the nationwide transport strike. Cl(–foul word(s) removed–) for private schools are left to the discretion of their school officials. #WalangPasok #Makatizens #MyMakati“
Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte also released statement for the same matter.

In the Twitter account of the Davao City Government, the mayor stated, “We fully respect the planned transport strike in Davao City on Monday, Oct 16. Cl(–foul word(s) removed–) from kindergarten to college will be suspended.”
Furthermore, “The City Government of Davao will deploy buses to assist passengers. Let us all take this opportunity to observe the streets with less jeepneys and more buses as envisioned in the High Priority Bus system project for the Dabawenyos.
