Here is how did the celebrity lawmakers in Congress have voted on the P1, 000 budget for the Commission on Human Rights (CHR).

Previously, the issue on the P1, 000 budget for the CHR becomes one of the most controversial and most discussed topics throughout the entire country, which causes online arguments and debates in the social media.

The initial budget for CHR next year was supposed to be P649.484 million, but it was reduced to only P1, 000 after the majority of the members of the House of Representatives approved the bill.

The proposal of 1-SAGIP party-list Representative Rodante Marcoleta was approved 112 out of 297 lawmakers. While 32 congressmen have voted against the proposal.

The names of showbiz personalities and now congressmen such as Vilma Santos-Recto (Batangas Sixth District), Lucy Torres-Gomez (Leyte Fourth District), Alfred Vargas (Quezon City Fifth District), John Marvin “Yul Servo” Nieto (Manila Third District), and Monsour del Rosario (Makati City First District) were not included among the 32 lawmakers who were against the motion.

As of now, there is still no complete list of the congressmen who voted to approve the P1, 000 budget for CHR. So, it can’t yet determine whether the celebrity lawmakers have approved or voted against the motion.

“There is no such record as voting was by ayes and nays, which was ultimately done with members standing to vote, when the nays challenged the ruling of the chair that the ayes had it,” said by House Majority Floor Leader Rodolfo Fariñas.

A social media user named Jayson Gaspar Maulit has also posted the names of 28 out of 32 lawmakers who voted against CHR P1, 000 budget for 2018.
