Fisherfolks Found An Endangered Sea Creature In Coastal Area Of Iloilo
An endangered sea creature weighing about 200 kg was found by a fisher folk in the coastal area of Brgy. Jolog, Estancia in Iloilo.
The official Facebook page of “Rmn Iloilo” has uploaded the photos of a hammerhead shark, which was found by a fisherman in Brgy. Jolog, Estancia in the province of Iloilo. The fisherfolks in the area fetch the shark through the pump boat going to the port of Estancia.
The shark was estimated weighing about 200 kilograms, unfortunately, the sea creature was already dead when it was found by the fisher folks. As of now, there is still no further details and information regarding the cause of shark’s death.
The photos of the hammerhead shark have been credited to a social media user named Monarose Carriaga.
The hammerhead shark was considered as an endangered species and came from the family of Sphyrnidae. Its name was derived from its hammer-shape head and can be usually found warmer waters and continental shelves.
Hammerhead sharks are usually gray in color and have a greenish tint. They have white bellies that let them blend into the ocean and sneak up on their prey. These types of sharks reproduced only once a year.
