Jonvic Remulla played a different tune when it comes to the 2028 elections

Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla apparently changed his mind, after he announced on Friday, May 8, that returning to the province of Cavite is more important to him than running for a higher office in 2028.

It can be recalled that in the program “Politiko Talks” of Bilyonaryo News Channel, Remulla shared his future political plans, including the possibility of him running for the presidential race in 2028.

As for the senatorial race, he said he would rather return to his province. “I’m more set on going back. Talagang gusto ko nang bumalik sa Cavite,” he said.

It can be recalled that before becoming the DILG secretary, Remulla served as governor of Cavite for a long time from 2010 to 2016 and again from 2019 to 2024.

Meanwhile, back in January, Sec. Jonvic Remulla said that he and his brother, Ombudsman Jesus Crispin “Boying” Remulla was offered P1 billion to end the flood control scam case.

He claimed that there was one intermediary who approached him and his brother to offer the said amount. Remulla said that they turned down the offer.

Sabi namin, ‘no deal.’ Nabigla ako roon. Sabi ko na lang, huwag na,” he said. However, the cabinet secretary did not reveal the identity of the person who made the said offer.
