Erwin Tulfo to Transfer to PTV-4 After Resigning from TV5?

Veteran newscaster Erwin Tulfo is currently being rumored to transfer to the state-owned television station, PTV-4, after resigning from TV5.

According to the report, Erwin Tulfo along with fellow Kapatid anchor Cherie Mercado will host the primetime newscast of PTV-4 starting this August.

Based on PEP source, the two will frontline the news program, against its rival broadcast newscasts; TV Patrol of ABS-CBN and 24 Oras of GMA-7.

However, Erwin Tulfo and his fellow broadcast journalist refused to divulge further details about their plan after resigning from Kapatid Network.

On June 30, Erwin Tulfo formally resigned from Radyo 5.

According to the newscaster and radio commentator, he resigned before the suspension of TV5 management was made to order.

This was after his conflict with co-News5 anchor, Ed Lingao on social media.

In his Facebook post, the 44-year-old radio-TV host noted that he will take a break for a few a months. He will return on-air but on a different network.

Cherie Mercado, on the other hand, recently resigned as undersecretary of Department of Transportation (DOTr).

Erwin Tulfo and Cherie Mercado worked together for a long time in the news department of TV5.

Meanwhile, an article of PEP noted that their rumored “transfer” to PTV-4 has been hinted as the reason of the reorganization in the news department of the government-owned station.

Just recently, it was reported that several reporters and newscasters of the network were terminated including news anchor Kathy San Gabriel.
