Ballistic Missiles Fired By North Korea Dropped Near Japan’s Coast

North Korea fired ballistic missiles from “Kusong,“ which flew for about 30 minutes and dropped between North’s east coast and Japan.

On early Sunday (May 14, 2017), South Korea’s military reported that North Korea fired a ballistic missile from “Kusong” a region located near Pyongyang. Kusong was the same region where the previous intermediate-range missile was launched last February.

Japan said that that the North’s missile flew around 700 kilometers for 30 minutes and dropped between the North Korea’s east coast and Japan’s coast. Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga said that the ballistic missile fired by North Korea was a violation of UN resolution

Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said that the missile test launched by the communist country is a big threat for them and issued a protest. Abe also said that they will stay in close touch to South Korea and the United States for more updates.

“North Korea’s repeated missile launches are a grave threat to our country and a clear violation of UN resolutions,” said by Abe quoted by ABS-CBN.

The Sunday’s ballistic missile test was the first since the new South Korean president took office on Wednesday (May 10, 2017). The Korean leader said that pressure must be applied to stop North’s nuclear ambition and ease the tension on the Korean Peninsula.

The presidential Blue House said that an emergency National Security Council Meeting has been called by President Moon-Jae in response to the missile launch.

Previously, North Korean has already conducted 5 missiles test and 2 of them were launched only last year. Their recent ballistic missile test gets failed when it suddenly explode 4 to 5 seconds after it was launched.
