Recently, a Kami report entailing an open letter of a daughter of a single mom broke in.

In the letter, the girl recognized the hard work that parents do for their children.

“I don’t think you need a brilliant mind to understand, appreciate, and admire a parent’s work,” she stated.

She emphasized that it is already widely known that fathers and mothers sacrifice much to be able to give their kids a “good life”.

In the letter, she said that Sen. Sotto, being a father, should know that.

The daughter of a single mom added in her message that she’s certain that the Senator know that normally, there are two people working very hard  for their kids – a father and a mother.

“But imagine a parent – a person – who is doing it all alone,” she said.

The girl expressed that the mother sacrifices her dreams, ambitions, goals, health, and life for her child.

She told Sen. Sotto in the letter that he has no right to shame a mother who chose to keep her baby.

“But we do have the right to shame you for thinking this whole single parenting thing is a j-o-k-e,” she stated.

She also raised a question regarding the intention of the Senator in asking the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo a “personal question”.
