Tito Sotto Reacts to Celebrities Who Slammed Him for “Na-ano lang” Remark

Senator Tito Sotto continues to receive bash statement and criticism over his “na-ano lang” remark to Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Judy Taguiwalo regarding her status as a single mother.

The 69-year-old host-politician did not only gained the netizen’s ire but also the displeasure of popular celebrities including Vice Ganda, Gretchen Ho, Claudine Barretto and to name a few.

But earlier, he reacted to those personalities who slammed him for his controversial statement.

Here’s the message of Tito Sotto according to PEP:

“They should check the journal of what went on before dipping into the issue.”

“In the CA [Commission on Appointments], we test honesty and credibility in some of our questions. All questions are fair in the hearings. And it also validates our own CA reports.”

“Ako pa eh sa mundo ng showbiz ay mas maraming sinasaluduhan akong single mothers.”

“In fact two of my daughters are single moms.”

“Relax lang. No offense meant.”

The issue first erupted after he twitted the Social Welfare secretary Judy Taguiwalo for having two daughters out-of-wedlock during her confirmation hearing before the Commission on Appointments on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.

He claimed that his “na-ano lang” remark is actually referred to the street terminology for the single parents.

Tito Sotto has already released his apology.

However, many were offended by his comment.
