Shiryl Saturnino’s Doctors Need More Time To Comply Affidavits

The doctors of Shiryl Saturnino asked five more days to prepare the affidavit.

SHIRYL – The doctors who performed the cosmetic surgery to the 29-year-old woman, Shiryl Saturnino, who lost her life after the procedures need more time to comply with the affidavits.

Recently, a young businesswoman died after she went through liposuction, breast and butt surgery at The Icon Clinic.

Based on a recent news report, Mandaluyong Police Chief Senior Supt. Joaquin Alva said that on Tuesday, the lawyers of the establishment gave a letter asking the investigators for five more days to comply with the affidavits.

The doctors who performed the surgery to Saturnino were surgeon Dr. Samuel Eric Yapjuangco and anesthesiologist Dr. Jose Jovito Mendiola.

Based on the report, Alva expressed that the investigators were previously told on Monday that Dr. Yapjuangco and Dr. Mendiola would submit the documents the following day.

The result of the autopsy of the 29-year-old businesswoman’s awaited by her family and the police while the licenses of the doctors who performed the operation and the permits of the establishment were being validated by the authorities as of Tuesday according to the report.

The legal counsel of the clinic has already sent a statement to the source expressing their willingness to cooperate with the investigators while the establishment continuously operates.

Based on the report, Atty. Estelita Cordero said that Saturnino’s a “valued and regular patient” of the clinic. She expressed that a probe is being conducted to determine the cause of the death of the 29-year-old businesswoman.

Moreover, Atty. Cordero said that it is their duty to “inform the public about the truth” and once the official data and the facts regarding the incident has already been collected, the public will be provided with the “additional information.”

The recent surgeries conducted to Saturnino were not her first cosmetic surgeries. According to the data collected by SPO1 Jamar Sabri and SPO2 Emmanuel Ermino, she already had a nose surgery in 2013 and a breast surgery in 2015.

Ermino expressed that this is the first instance that a patient died at the said establishment according to the initial investigation.

According to Dante Anabe, they are not in the position to claim that there is a “negligence”.

“Maybe her body could not handle having three procedures done at the same time,” Anabe said.

He expressed that Saturnino might have handled the previous operations as they were not performed at one time only. Moreover, he added that the expenses for the funeral of Saturnino was shouldered by the establishment.

Based on a previous news report, there are already people close to Saturnino who took their grief to the social media for the early passing of the 29-year-old businesswoman.
