Pres. Duterte even added that their wives would be widows and they are “special targets”. According to the report, out of 300 cops, only 50 of them appeared for the Basilan deployment.

Pres. Duterte said that he has already tasked his men to strictly monitor those erring cops who did not follow his command. He also told the public not to be surprised if they get killed.

“Once out of job, they will continue their plunder, they will continue with their crime. So people will watch their movement from time to time,” the 71-year-old Chief Executive said based on the report.

Reportedly, Pres. Duterte has recently decided to suspend the war on drugs campaign to focus on the general cleaning of the national police force. The move rooted from the recent issues allegedly involving some police authorities.

In the alleged kidnapping of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo, there were cops who were allegedly involved. Some police authorities are also facing accusations of involvement in the robbery and extortion of the Korean golfers in Angeles City.

Based on a previous news report, Philippine National Police Chief Director Gen. Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa has slammed those seven cops who were allegedly involved in the incident in Angeles City.

According to the report, the PNP Chief stressed the illegitimacy of their act and made them do the push-up – a move that one Senator has a comment to.

Sen. Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan reacted on the push-up order of PNP Chief dela Rosa through his social media account. Based on the report, the Senator posted a quest about the move: ‘Anong klaseng kabaliwan ito?’

“Push-ups ang ipinakitang kaparusahan sa pitong akusadong pulis sa kasong robbery at extortion ng mga Koreano sa Angeles. Robbery at extortion ang kaso,” Sen. Pangilinan said based on the news report.
