Members of the Opposition Including Former VP Leni Robredo Meet Again
LENI ROBREDO – The former Vice President and now Naga City Mayor was spotted in a meeting with her allies in the opposition.
Undeniably, some recent meetings of the opposition has sparked speculations that it could possible be election-related. Meanwhile, previously, Senator Risa Hontiveros clarified that they have yet to choose a standard bearer for the 2028 Elections.
Sen. Risa Hontiveros admitted that she is willing to run for president in the 2028 Elections if the opposition bloc chooses her to be the standard bearer. She made the remarks during the Foreign Correspondents Association of the Philippines forum.
According to Hontiveros, they are fighting to unite as the opposition sees it as the only way to stand a chance in the next polls. However, she clarified that those who will be part of the united opposition are the ones with shared values. She stressed that they will not partner with anyone for political reasons. Currently, she is with at least two (2) allies in the Senate — Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and Sen. Bam Aquino.
“Enough shared values. We have to be at the heart of that. There can’t be nothing there. Enough shared values and there will possibly be a measure of pragmatism too. And that’s what’s also under discussion,” the lady Senator claimed.
Recently, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo who is now the mayor of Naga City was spotted in a meeting with her allies in the opposition. Based on News5, among those who were also present at the said meeting were senators Kiko Pangilinan, Risa Hontiveros, and Bam Aquino.
Former Senator and now Mamamayang Liberal party-list Representative Leila de Lima and Akbayan party-list Rep. Chel Diokno were also at the said meeting with former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo. Based on the post, former Senate Pres. Franklin Drilon was also there.
In 2022, the tandem of former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and now-Sen. Kiko Pangilinan did not win in votes but has greatly established a stronghold in their campaigns. The Leni-Kiko tandem continues to enjoy the support of the Kakampinks and the team Angat Buhay.
During the 2025 Midterm Elections, not only former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo and now-Sen. Kiko Pangilinan secured government posts but as well as Sen. Bam Aquino who made his comeback in the Senate. He was the campaign manager of the Leni-Kiko tandem.
Amid the flood control scam in PH, former Vice Pres. Leni Robredo joined the anti-corruption rally.
