Pangilinan Criticizes PNP Chief Bato’s Sanction To Erring Cops Involved In Robbery Of Koreans In Angeles

Sen. Pangilinan criticized the push-up order of PNP Chief Bato to erring cops.

PANGILINAN – Sen. Francis ‘Kiko’ Pangilinan spoke his side regarding the push-up order of Philippine National Police Chief Director Gen. Ronald ‘Bato’ dela Rosa to the erring policemen.

Recently, there are lots of issues allegedly involving some police authorities. One of the biggest issues is the alleged kidnapping and killing of Korean businessman Jee Ick Joo wherein there are cops who are allegedly involved.

Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s decision to suspend the war on drugs campaign to focus on the cleansing of the national police power came after the said issue.

Aside from the issue regarding the death of the Korean businessman, another issue wherein there are cops who are allegedly involved is the robbery of the Koreans staying in Angeles City last December.

Based on a previous news report, PNP Chief Bato dela Rosa has expressed his disappointment to the policemen who were allegedly involved in the incident in Angeles City for their alleged misconduct.

According to the news report, the PNP Chief chided the seven cops and stressed to them if it is legitimate to put the money in their pockets and to beat others.

In another news report, it is stated that Sen. Francis ‘Chiz’ Escudero commented on the push-up order of the PNP Chief and regarded it as for camera and television. He even questioned why PNP Chief Bato has not shouted over anyone in Camp Crame.

Recently, a news report in GMA News entailed the reaction of Sen. Kiko Pangilinan. According to the news report, the Senator expressed his reaction to the sanction of the PNP Chief to the erring cops on his social media accounts.

“Push-ups ang ipinakitang kaparusahan sa pitong akusadong pulis sa kasong robbery at extortion ng mga Koreano sa Angeles. Robbery at extortion ang kaso,” the Senator said based on the report.

The Senator also added that the cops were not put behind the bars, disarmed, and handcuffed, and they were allowed to wear the PNP uniform to stain further the image of the police.

The Senator also emphasized that when a poor drug user resists, that person is killed while to erring cops, they were tasked to do the push-up. “Anong klaseng kabaliwan ito?,” Sen. Pangilinan stated.
