Ronda Rousey Receives Support From Lebron James, Kobe Bryant
UFC fighter Ronda Rousey received a word of support from two NBA superstar Lebron James and Kobe Bryant for her second straight loss.
Lebron James offers a word of support for Ronda Rousey after losing against Amanda Nunes in her comeback fight in UFC 207 over the weekend. Nunes was able to beat Rousey during the 48-second of their match.
Rousey becomes the subject of some criticism online, after her loss in her most anticipated comeback fight. The former women’s bantamweight champion tasted her second devastating knockout loss last weekend.
James expressed his encouragement and sympathy for the female UFC fighter. He also said that life in sports have ups and down and everybody can both experience the sweet victory and a painful defeat.
“In sports, in general, they build you up as high as they can, put you on the highest mountain in the world, just to tear you down. That’s coming from somebody who has experienced it. And that’s exactly what she’s going through right now,” James told the Akron Beacon Journal quoted by Inquirer.
The NBA superstar also shared that he also went through different challenges in his career as a basketball player. He also believes that Rousey could do what he did in overcoming the obstacles and could go back again to the mountaintop.
Kobe Bryant also shared the same feeling of James for Rousey and he reminds everyone in the sports community the contribution of Rousey on women’s MMA.
“Instead of clapping for Ronda Rousey defeat give her a standing O for putting the sport on the map,” posted by Bryant on his Tweeter account. There are rumors that Ronda will have his retirement following her defeat and there’s still no clear statement if Rousey will fight again.
