WATCH – Al Jazeera English tweeted a video showing an interview with Vice Pres. Leni Robredo after she announced that she will be stepping down from her post in the Cabinet.
The resignation of Vice Pres. Leni Robredo from her post as the chairperson of Housing and Urban Development Coordinating Council (HUDDC) has undeniably sparked a lot of headlines.
Many people as well have reacted upon Vice Pres. Robredo’s announcement that she will be stepping down from the post. The decision rooted from the text message received by the Vice President asking her to “desist from attending all Cabinet meetings”.

The text message containing the order of Pres. Rodrigo Duterte through Christopher ‘Bong’ Go, his longtime aide, allegedly came from Cabinet Secretary Jun Evasco Jr.
The Vice President then decided to step down from her post as the Housing Secretary. She took to social media her accomplishments as the chairperson of the HUDDC. Vice Pres. Robredo compared stepping down from the post to a mother who has given birth and left her child right away.
Recently, Al Jazeera English shared through its Twitter account the video interview with Vice Pres. Robredo after she made an announcement to leave her post in the Cabinet.
In the interview, the Vice President admitted that she also did not expect it to happen as she has been vocal on the differences between her and the President.
The video also highlighted that Vice Pres. Robredo came from the party accused of plotting the ouster of Pres. Duterte.
It also stressed that she has been a visible critic of some of the President’s policies which include the alleged extrajudicial killing on the battle against drugs and as well as the burial of the late dictator Ferdinand Marcos Sr. at Libingan ng mga Bayani.
