Fighting for the first time since winning a seat in the Philippine Senate last May, Pacquiao defeated Vargas after winning in the judges’ scorecard revealing 114-113, 118-109, and 118-109.
The Filipino ring icon put up a powerful fight and dominated since the opening rounds, catching the younger champion flush to the chin in the second round, sending the Mexican-American fighter to the canvas.
