PAL Experienced Clear Air Turbulence Six People Were Injured
PAL experienced Clear Air Turbulence (CAT) causes six people to be injured during their flight while approaching Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).
On Tuesday (September 13, 2016) Philippine Airlines (PAL) flight from Los Angeles going back to the Philippines experienced (CAT) upon approaching NAIA. Six people were injured in the incident at PR1103 including two passengers and four crew members are hurt due to turbulence according to PAL spokesperson Cielo Villaluna.
“CAT is caused when bodies of air moving at widely different and turbulent speeds meet. This is something that can occur anytime during a flight and there are no visual indicators that can indicate oncoming CAT,” said by PAL spokesperson.
During the turbulence on the plane, a 42 years old female passenger was hit on the left side of her face and the 43 years old male passenger incurred a wound on his lower leg. 4 PAL crews were also experienced body pain during the turbulence hitting on some surface of the plane.
