Malacañan Palace believes that with Duterte’s personality, no threat can make him worry.
The Malacañan Palace said on Thursday, September 1, that President Rodrigo Duterte is “concerned” but is not worried of the liquidation plot against his life.
The Palace’s statement was issued after the discovery of an assassination plot against Duterte where the culprits were arrested from Bacolod City in Negros Occidental Province.

Presidential Spokesman Ernesto Abella said, they are not undermining the threat but with the president’s personality, he is not afraid of these potential troubles against his life.
The liquidation plot was uncovered after an intelligence report from the United States Department of Homeland Security has been communicated to the Philippine National Police (PNP).
According to the report, different spare parts of guns and some live ammunitions, packed and squeezed inside a Balikbayan Box were shipped from the US to the Philippines through the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA).

The shipment was addressed to a certain Leo Mendieta who is said to be a consignee.
Upon receiving the report, the Bureau of Customs (BoC) monitored the shipment and asked the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to track the Balikbayan box.
The shipment was dropped to Barangay Tangub in Bacolod City.
The CIDG then plotted an operation to amass the gun parts through a buy bust operation although no illegal drugs were confiscated.
