Overlapping Functions – President Rodrigo Roa Duterte expressed his concern on the certain aspects in the government like the redundancy of duties.
Considering the numerous government agencies in the country, overlapping of functions is at times inevitable. This goes that there could be functions that are served by more than one agency.
With the 186 government agencies in the present, after the 10 agencies added from the list during 2000, President Duterte expressed his concern on the redundancy of posts and overlapping functions among agencies.
In a recent news report in Phil Star Global, the Executive Chief who is a promoter of ‘right-size bureaucracy’ affirmed that there is no denial in the fat in the government.
