Baron vs. Kiko URCC Match Raises Funds for Political Prisoner’s Bail

The highly anticipated mixed martial arts duel between celebrities Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos is not jut an ordinary URCC match but the event is also a charitable one. The Baron vs. Kiko match is meant to help raise funds for the P800,000 bail for political prisoner Maricon Montakes.

In an interview with the media, Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) founder and president Alvin Aguilar was quoted as saying “We will be giving proceeds to charity. Both camps agreed that they want a charity they want to donate to,” Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) founder and president Alvin Aguilar said.

Baron Geisler confirmed also that the proceeds of the URCC event will be given to authorities who are doing their best to help Maricon Montakes. Geisler even invited his fans and the general public to support his exhibition match against Kiko Matos “Kung ano yung proceeds na makukuha namin para kay Maricon Montajes na political prisoner. Nakaset na yung bail niya, I think nasa P800,000 para makalabas siya. We are also asking help from other people,” Geisler said.

“Everything we do here is for a good cause. Kahit na mabigwasan ang mukha namin I think it is all worth it,” he added. The Baron vs. Kiko will be held this coming Saturday June 25, 2016 in the Valkyrie at the Palace in Taguig City.

For Kiko Matos, he revealed to the media that a group from the University of the Philippines (UP) supporting the release of Maricon Montakes approached his camp to inform him of the fight’s objective. According to Matos, the fight started out of the fundraising for Maricon Montajes, he talked with the organizers from UP and told him that they also talked with Baron Geisler. Kiko noted that it is indeed a good thing that they both have a common objective.
