The said open letter was posted on the Facebook page of Empire Boxing, a known boxing gym in Makati City, Philippines.

The open letter goes this way:

“An Open Letter to Mr. Baron Geisler and Mr. Kiko Matos

Dear Sirs,

I don’t exactly know the circumstances of
your altercation, or the desired end results, but I am pleading one thing. You both are gentlemen who have etched names in the world for sport, theater, cinema and yes, Mr. Matos. We did volunteer work together if you remember me.

I have been through a lot growing up. I am five days from 39, and am now a devoted family man. I have battle scars enough to
prove that not all of my fighting was done in competition. If a .45 slug on my left knee doesn’t say anything , I don’t know what would.

Mr. Geisler, you are a Sensei of an Olympic Sport. My son is an active Judoka. He looks up to athletes. Mr. Matos, you are kind and creative beyond what people just see. A genuine artist. My son also looks up to people like you.

I have been through enough, as many other respected people to know that violence will
only lead to more violence. And being gladiators will only fire up the youth to resort to physical beatings to resolve issues.

Just so you know I have absolute respect for anyone that believes in the “old school way”
Settling things like gentlemen in the old days. That is a genuine show of bravado, and perhaps honor.

These days however, when our nation is going through change, and a great many are oppressed, hungry, thirsty, and in need of medicine or shelter, I implore you both to take some time off, and discuss matters and attempt to resolve your issues with peace. If no agreement can be made, then part as the civilized gentlemen you both are. With a handshake and a farewell.

This way you both will win the hearts of many that are watching this issue. Nowadays people are so immersed in politics and argument, isn’t it a ripe time to show that we as Filipinos can show compassion, kindness, forgiveness and respect?

I have no authority nor am empowered to speak or control the situation, but living in absolute peace, having no enemies, nobody mad at you. Honestly, not having to carry a gun almost anywhere is indescribable.

Enjoying the company of my family, and friends who are more than blood. If only I can tell you how hard it was to find my way after an alright childhood marred by sexual abuse. I FOUND MY WAY.

I beg you, please come to terms.

If the arts are what you wish, I am opening my doors to the both of you, so we can all learn from each other with humility and of course, laughter.

Thank you, gentlemen. Love and light to all who read this and may your week be filled with opportunities to share kindness.

Respectfully,

Rob Del Rosario

According to Rob Del Rosario, the one who wrote the letter, this cage match would just lead to more violence rather than just settling the whole situation by “a handshake and a farewell”.

The controversial actors, Baron Geisler and Kiko Matos were invited by the Universal Reality Combat Championship (URCC) to settle their differences inside the cage.

Recently, both Geisler and Matos signed a contract for the said match that will be held on June 25, 2016, at the Palace Pool Club in Taguig City.

Everything started in a brawl inside a club in Quezon City during a fundraising concert.

Should the two actors really need to fight each other inside the cage?
