PulsePoint App Saves Young Boy’s Life
A young boy who has a serious health condition was recently saved by a mechanic using an app called PulsePoint.
Karen Garrison had been in a really hard situation when he found out that her baby boy was not breathing anymore. Because she did not know how to perform CPR, she trembled. But fortunately, a man just nearby immediately came as alerted to save the day.
At that time, Karen and her newborn son Nolan were in an Empire Dance Shop when something went terribly incorrect. Nolan stopped breathing, and she asked for someone to call 911.
“Everything was just going so fast. And I don’t know CPR, I had no idea how to do it,” said Karen in the video feature by Humankind.
An app called PulsePoint helped in the situation. It is an app which locates someone nearby who knows how to perform CPR. Thankfully, a mechanic named Jeff Olson was just down the street from the location of Karen and Nolan.
Jeff was a volunteer EMT and also trained in CPR. He has the PulsePoint on his phone, an app which alerts people when a 911 call for CPR has been placed in their location.
“I didn’t even let me my boss know that I was leaving,” Jeff said. “I just thought, ‘Gotta hurry,” he added.
Jeff then ran towards the shop where Nolan is and started rescuing him. Thankfully, Nolan was safe.
Nolan, according to feature, has a rare kidney condition which might be the reason he stopped from breathing on that day.
“I’m eternally grateful to him,” Karen said.
“If he hadn’t have been there, I don’t know what would’ve happened,” she added.
