An avid supporter of Mayor Rodrigo Duterte, veteran singer Wency Cornejo shared his reactions on social media about the recent controversies involving the Davao City Mayor who became the target of negative news and bias journalism even after the election period.
On his official Facebook Page, Wency Cornejo said that he sometimes wished that the outgoing Davao City Mayor Rody Duterte did not decide to run for President. He noted that the 71-year-old local government head of Davao City doesn’t deserve all the hate coming from people who don’t give him a changce to prove himself to fixt the Philippines.
Wency Cornejo is best known in the music industry as the former member of After Image and the one who popularized the song “Habang May Buhay.”

Sometimes I wish Digong never decided to run for president. He does not deserve all this hate coming from people who do not want to give him a chance to do what he says he will try to do to fix the nation. There is just so much animosity.
They say, he is divisive. What they don’t realize is that they are the ones creating the gap. I simply cannot fathom where all this anger and festering hatred is coming from. Whatever did he do for some to portray him like Hitler or Pol Pot? Why are you so sure that he is bad for our country?
