Binay Refuses to Concede Against Duterte in Presidential Race

Binay still not conceding to Duterte

Vice President Jejomar Binay said that he still won’t concede to presidential race front-runner Rodrigo Duterte despite of the wide disparity between them in the presidential race.

Binay-Busiest Presidential Candidate

“Let’s not use the word conceding,” Binay said in an interview with Balitanghali. “Basta my position is I will await the results of the completion of the electoral process,” he added.

Just recently, camp of the United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) standard-bearer questioned reported irregularities on the election day including malfunctioning of vote counting machines or VCMs and several registered voters whose names were not listed in the polling precincts.

“Hindi ko naman nagsasabing I’m not willing na mag-ano, e.” Binay said when asked about the call for “healing” of Duterte. “We’re talking about the process. The healing is another thing,” Binay added.

In the latest partial and unofficial tally of local and national elections, Duterte is still dominating the presidential race with more than 15 million votes.

Binay, on the other hand, places fourth in the presidential race.

Meanwhile, other candidates, Mar Roxas and Grace Poe who were placed second and third respectively have already conceded to the soon-to-be 16th President of the Republic of the Philippines.

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has yet to proclaim the winners of the Philippine General Elections conducted last May 9, 2016 as it is still canvassing transmitted votes from 92,509 clustered precincts.
