Lady Customer to Grocery Store: “PANO YUNG MGA COSTUMERS NA HINDI TUMITINGIN NG RESIBO”
A lady customer has reminded fellow shoppers to always check their receipts after she claimed she was charged incorrectly at a grocery store.
Recently, Arclina Beaumont, a Facebook user, shared her experience online along with a photo of her receipt. The post garnered various reactions online and sparked discussions about the importance of reviewing receipts after every purchase.
According to Arclina, she and her sister visited a grocery store in Bataraza to buy household items. She said that while they were shopping, they carefully calculated the total cost of their purchases and expected to spend a little over P1,000.

Since she was carrying a baby, her sister lined up at the cashier first. However, when it was time to pay, Arclina was surprised when the total amount reached P2,180, which was much higher than what they had expected.
Because she did not have enough money with her, she had to borrow cash from her sister just to complete the payment.
After the transaction, Arclina looked at the receipt and noticed a questionable charge amounting to P1,480. Curious about the item, she asked the cashier about it. She claimed that the cashier appeared unsure of what happened and consulted a co-worker regarding the mistake.

According to Arclina, she was eventually given P925 back, but she felt disappointed by how the situation was handled. She also claimed that the cashier did not apologize and initially did not want to hand over the receipt because it was supposedly needed for the refund process.
Beaumont stressed that if she had not checked her receipt, she might not have noticed the discrepancy and could have lost money. A simple check can help customers spot possible errors and ensure that they are only paying for the items they actually purchased.
