The decision of KBL to support Syjuco as standard bearer of KBL left Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago, who earlier announced that he will be supporting Sen. Ferdinand Marcos Jr., as his standard bearer in the 2016 national elections.

The KBL also supports the Vice Presidential bid of Sen. Marcos as what most political analysts predicted before. The decision to support Buboy Syjuco was announced by KBL President Vicente Millorca who noted that that party formalized Syjuco’s adoption as its presidential candidate by way of issuing a certification to that effect.

Although the decision of KBL was announced by Mellorca, the other faction of the political party led by Jose Vicente Opinion stated that his group has yet to decide whom to support as their president in the national elections. Both Opinion and Mellorca claimed the presidency of KBL.

Sen. Bongbong Marcos and Sen. Miriam Defensor Santigao has yet to make a statement regarding the latest decision of KBL to drop Santiago as their presidential bet in the 2016 national elections.
