Xian Lim Explained Why He Refused to Wear “Albay” Souvenir Shirt

Kapamilya actro Xian Lim explained the main reasons why he refused to wear the “Albay” souvenir shirt promoting the province of Albay. Aside from explaining his side to the media, the actor also apologized to Albay Governor Joey Salceda. Xian Lim was invited to Albay’s Tsinoy Festival but he refused to wear the “Albay” shirt to avoid conflict with his clothing endorsement.

The 25-year-old Xian Lim was invited earlier to Albay’s Tsinoy Festival but controversy arise on his guesting because he was not able to wear the souvenir shirt for the province of Albay. The actor explained on Twitter why he refused to wear the promotional shirt for Albay to avoid any conflict with his endorsement deal.

Xian Lim made the statement after an online news report quoted him as saying, “I am not here to promote Albay.” The actor clarified that he just read an online article about an incident which is deeply upsetting because it doesn’t tell the right story.

The actor was quoted as saying “I just read an online article about an incident which is deeply upsetting because it doesn’t tell the right story. In the article I was quoted as saying ‘I am not here to promote Albay’, something I never said or would ever say,” he said.

Xian Lim narrated further that “Earlier, the author of the online article handed me a coffee table book of Albay and a t-shirt to wear. My exact words to her were ‘Sorry po, hindi ko maisuot yung tshirt kasi baka magka-conflict sa clothing endorsement ko. Pasensiya na po.’ he stated.

According to Xian Lim, he deeply apologize to Governor Salceda and the people of Albay for the misunderstanding about the reasons for his refusal to wear the t shirt. He also noted that if he will be cleared by his clothing endorsement, he would be more than happy to wear it online and on air.
