Manuel, who used to play for head coach Louigi Trillo in the PBA D-league’s Cebuana Lhuillier Gems, will add banger in Alaska already formidable frontline, which aside from Sonny Thoss, has Gabby Espinas, Sam Eman, Eddie Laure and Calvin Abueva.
The Gilas mainstay Ramos on the other hand will give both inside presence and perimeter shooting to the Express as he can play both 3 and 4 spots.
The 6’5 forward will also give needed height to Air21 slim frontline, which have veteran Asi Taulava as the tallest local player at 6’8.
Manuel, who had an impressive Philippine Cup campaign, suddenly seen limited minutes this Commissioner’s Cup while Ramos also hardly plays for the Aces owing to the huge minutes of import Robert Dozier.
Manuel and Ramos, both drafted in 2012 are having similar fates in their young career as this is going to be the fourth time that the two sophomores are moving to another team.
