Shiela Pineda had 25 hits and 13 digs to lift the Lady Falcons over Far Eastern University Tamaraws, 25-17, 23-25, 23-25, 25-13, 15-11 and advance in a knockout match against Ateneo for the first stage of the step ladder semis on Saturday.

After getting the opening frame with a relative ease, Adamson suddenly found themselves down by two sets after FEU willed their way to move a set away from return trip to semifinals.

But Lady Falcons will not be denied, storming back in the last two sets to finally secure the last final four spot.

Zapanta also chipped in 14 points while Amanda Villanueva had 12 hits for Adamson.

Bernadeth Pons poured in 17 each while Marie Simborio and Mary Palma had 10 points for the Lady Tamaraws, who will miss the semifinals for the second straight year.

The winner of the playoff between Adamson and Ateneo will face the NU lady Bulldogs, who hold a twice-to-beat advantage.
