Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony Live on TV5 (Video)

The opening ceremony of the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 will be aired live by the Philippines official Olympic partner, TV5, tonight February 7, 2013 at around 12:00 PM (PST).

The XXII Winter Olympic Games will be brought to every Filipino homes by TV5, the official network partner of the Olympic Games. The opening ceremony will be held at the Fisht Olympic Stadium which is expected to be filled and witness by more than 40,000 live spectators while billions of people around the world tuning on their respective TV sets.

According to the details posted by TV5, the opening ceremony is expected to be a three-hour festival of music and electric lights ending with a grand fireworks display.

Some of the most notable performers in the Sochi Winter Olympics 2014 is the 17-year-old American singer Danielle Dradebery, who will sing the theme song titled “My Day,” together with a number of Russian cl(–foul word(s) removed–)ical music performers.

The Philippine Flag will be represented also in the Winter Olympics for the first time after 22 years of absence in the global winter sporting event. The 17-year-old Filipino figure skater Michael Christian Martinez represents the Philippines in the traditional parade of athletes of a total of 88 participating countries and territories.

Thomas Bach, the President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will be making his first Olympic speech while the President of Russia, Pres. Vladimir Putin is set to declare the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games open.
