China to Send Hospital Ship “Peace Ark” to Aid Typhoon Victims

The Chinese government will be sending their hospital ship “Peace Ark” to the typhoon-stricken areas of the Visayas. The medical boat belongs to the Chinese Navy. The confirmation of sending China’s world-renowned hospital ship was made through the Foreign Ministry spokesman of China.

According to the Chinese Government, their first batch of emergency rescuers has departed to the Philippines on Wednesday, they are members of the China Red Cross as announced by foreign affairs spokesman Hong Lei.

The Foreign Minister of China’s spokesman described their hospital ship as having a good medical rescue capability and maneuverability. The Chinese government is keeping a close watch on the typhoon disaster in the Philippines and would like to follow the spirit of healing the wounded and rescuing the dying and send their rescuers for humanitarian medical (–foul word(s) removed–)istance.

China’s first batch of humanitarian aid have already arrived on Monday and Tuesday in Cebu City, the center of relief goods distribution. The relief aid coming from Communist China includes tents and blankets which was ship by a China Eastern Airlines cargo plane.

The “Peace Ark” was launched during the year 2007, joining some few nations with a naval floating hospitals. The ship was built to provide quicker humanitarian response to disasters around the world.
