Greg Slaughter grabbed the first overall pick in the 2013 PBA Draft as he was chosen by Barangay Ginebra Gin Kings on Sunday, November 3, 2013 at the Robinsons Place in Ermita, Manila. The 7-foot center became the second consecutive Cebuano top picks who made it to the PBA following June Mar Fajardo last year.

The Ginebra’s top pick was obtained from Air21 Express, he became Ginebra’s firts top pick since Marlou Aquino in 1996. During Marlo Aquino’s time he was nominated as one of the candidate for Most Valuable Player during his first season.
The acquisition of Greg Slaughter as the top pick in this year’s star-studded PBA Rookie Draft featuring some of the most popular basketball stars from various teams in the UAAP and the NCAA aside from regular players who were playing in the PBA D-League.
The 25-year-old Greg Slaughter began his Philippine basketball career with the University of the Visayas before signing up for the original SMART-Gilas Pilipinas national program under Serbian coach Rajko Toroman. Slaughter transferred to the Ateneo Blue Eagles where he led his team to two titles in two seasons in the UAAP.
Greg Slaughter have been training with the Ginebra squad for the past few days, according to Slaughter he is excited to take part with the Philippines most popular PBA Team. Slaughter have been toughening in the past few years with the NLEX Road Warriors in the D-League and the Gilas Pilipinas training pool.
