The World Wildlife Fund will (–foul word(s) removed–)ist the Tubbataha Management Office on their plan to build a new ranger station which according to reports will cost around P50 million to build.

The Tubbataha Reef consists of more than 87,000-hectares located in the middle of the Sulu Sea. The ranger station that will be built in the area have already an approved design which includes a command center that will have an upper and lower level with surveillance equipment, solar panels and hydroponics bank where the rangers can plant vegetables.

The solar panel will also provide the entire ranger station with power aside from the power that will be generated through the use of renewable sources such as wind and solar power.

Based upon the design, an adjoining building will be built which will serve as a research lab and dormitory for visiting scientists. A helipad will be constructed also for emergency purposes.

The World Wildlife Foundation (WWF) has already raised a total of P10 million, they are now calling for pledges from companies aside from the already available and donated building materials. The construction will begin this coming October 2013.
