The Philippines was playing without their head coach, German tactician, Hans Michael Weiss who was suspended but the guys from the Philippines proved their strength when their backs were against the wall.
The Philippines ended with the final score at 1-0. Most of the possessions were controlled by the Vietnamese but the defenders of the Azkals were able to stand their ground especially the superb depending of Edward Sacapano, the goalkeeper of the Azkals.
The Philippine Azkals will now moved on to their next game against Myanmar, they needs to win to secure a semi-finals ticket, a return to their previous glory during the 2010 edition of the game.
