FIFA have released a statement involving the controversial match-up between the Philippines and Laos and decided that the results of the game was invalid because of the reasons that the referees officiating the game were not recognized by the world-governing body of (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation Football.
The Philippine Azkals defeat against Laos was considered as null-and-void according to the latest statement from FIFA. The game ended with a controversial 1-2 defeat for the Azkals although there were controversies surrounding the game.
The defeat of the Philippine Azkals will surely affect its ranking if the game was considered valid but not anymore. The Laotians team were way behind the Azkals current ranking at 15o while Laos stands at 193.
One of the most controversial part of the game was during the time when sub midfielder Misagh Bahadoran was clearly punched by one of the Laotians defenders after both players went down after a tackle. Misagh was handed with a red card contrary to the situation.
A melee ensued also during the game after Azkals’ Schrock and Sabio were caught in a heated scuffle and all of the players were gathered at the center of the pitch. Neil fall prey to the Laotians when he tried to invade the midfield.
A photo captured from Anton Sheker of Goal.Ph clearly shows that Neil was under attacked by Laotians but the referees did not sanctions any player.
