Vujacic and Williams off for Turkey

Sasha Vujacic
Amidst the National Basketball (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation ( NBA) lockout controversy reported earlier on, New Jersey Nets will be starting 2011-12 season without point guard Deron Williams and guard Sasha Vujacic.

Two days ago, report said that 27-year Sasha Vujacic has signed a one-year deal with Turkish team for next season. The Slovenian hotshot has won two championship titles with Los Angeles Lakers. After playing for six seasons, he was traded to New Jersey via three-team deal last December 2010.

Just recently, it was also reported that Deron Williams aka D-Will has officially signed with Turkey’s professional basketball team Besiktas. Williams played most of his playing career with Utah Jazz wherein he was picked as 3rd overall draft in 2005. The two-time All-Star player, D-Will, is also is a member of USA team during 2008 Summer Olympics in which they won a gold medal. He last played with New Jersey Nets and averaging 15 points per game, 7 points lower than his career average with Jazz.

Well, this is sad news for New Jersey fans if not for the entire NBA league in general. If lockout issues will not be resolved in the soonest possible time, it’s certain that we will not be seeing some familiar faces of our NBA stars soon.*
