
The Filipina-American Ana Julaton have just retained her World Boxing Organization super bantamweight title belt by virtue of a unanimous decision against the Mexican challenger Franchesca “The Chosen One” Alcanter. The Filipina reigning champion prevailed in the 10 round championship bout with a score of 96-94, 98-92, and 97-93 in favor of the champ.
Ana Julaton came from Daly City, was a late bloomer in boxing having learn the sport in the year 2004 after learning different forms of Martial Arts. She studied high school at El Camino High in San Francisco. She is 30 year old women’s boxing champion.
Ana Julaton’s corner which includes his trainer Nonito Donaire Sr. was so confident even before the fight for the superb conditioning she has undergone. The team even flew to the famous Wild Card Gym to train for this fight. They got the service of light flyweight champion Rodel Mayol as her sparring partner.
Ana Julaton’s performance late last June over Mexican Maria Elena Villalobos by split decision and taken the 122-lb title, gave way for her prominence not only in the U. S. but also in the Philippines.
