The Philippine National Basketball Team Smart Gilas Pilipinas will try to continue their winning streak after successfully winning two games first against powerhouse Lebanon followed by another win against hometown team Chinese Taipei B.
The Smart Gilas Pilipinas will face today the South Korean team who earlier suffered a defeat against the United States. The United States team UPG was also considered as one of the top contenders. In terms of most number of titles held the United States dominated the tournament since it’s inception followed by the Philippines and Iran with 3 titles apiece.
The South Korea (KGC) was one of the toughest team in the tournament having won their first two outings first they won against Chinese Taipei B followed by another win against the struggling Lebanon.
South Korea was then defeated by the American Team, UPG, the South Korean have dropped their win-loss records to 2-1 while the UPG United States continues to dominate the tournament together with the Philippines who has 2 consecutive wins already.
Depending Champion Iran on the other hand led the tournament with a total of 3 consecutive wins with no defeat.
Meanwhile the Philippine’s Smart Gilas will battle it out against the South Korean at around 3:00 PM (local time) +8:00 GMT. It will be shown live through AKTV.
