Carmela Lorzano Turns 3-Chairs in The Voice with Her Rendition of “Tomorrow”

The Voice Kids of the Philippines Season 3 featured some of the country’s youngest and most talented singers showcasing their singing prowess on national TV and one of them is no other than the 7-year-old girl dressed in full Annie costume named Carmela Lozano. Right after her rendition of the song “Tomorrow” the three judges turned their respective chairs for her but eventually she chooses the team she wants most.

During the Saturday’s edition of the popular The Voice Kids singing competition on national TV, the 7-year-old kid from Batangas belted the song from the hit musical “Annie,” during the blind audition held on Saturday night.

The vocal prowess of Carmela Lorzano earned the nod of the all three coaches, Lea Salonga, Bamboo and Sharon Cuneta. Aside from Lorzano the other aspiring singer who secured the elite 3-chair membership includes Krisha Aler who joined Team Sharon Cuneta.

Coach Lea Salonga was so impressed with the performance of Lozano as she stated “A voice like that out of a seven-year-old? I love your voice. I love your face. I love your look. I love your song choice!” Salonga said. Salonga added that Lorzano was able to transform the song into her own. Salonga sang “Tomorrow” when she played the title-role of Annie in Manila in 1980.

Coach Bamboo on his part was quoted as saying “I know that song. Naiintindihan ko ‘yung kantang ‘yun. I know it’s a hard choice. So, pick me,” Bamboo told Lorzano. In order to convince Lorzano to join his Kamp Kawayan team he even performed his own version of the song “Tomorrow” but he failed to convince Lorzano to join his team.

Meanwhile, the Megastar has these words for the young singer. “Ang masasabi ko lang, nakakabilib ang boses mo. Ang ganda-ganda ng mukha mo. Napaka-crystal clear ng (boses mo) ‘yung mataas, parang gusto ko na umakyat sa heaven.”

At the end of Lorzano’s performance on Saturday night, she decided to join her idol the veteran Broadway superstar Lea Salonga.
