Singer-actress Lea Salonga draws flak from netizens as she came under fire over a tweet she posted on Saturday which tackled “kababawan” (shallowness). Lea Salonga tweeted “Okay lang sa akin ang kababawan, pero hanggang doon na lamang ba tayo? #NagtatanongLangPo.”
Some netizens interpreted the tweet of Lea Salonga as an allusion to the “AlDub” loveteam of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza despite the fact that the award-winning singer did not refer her tweets to the popular split-screen tandem.
Lea Salonga posted her tweet during the second “Saturdate” of Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza in Lola Nidora’s mansion that dominated the worldwide Twitter trending topics generating more than 25 million tweets during the entire day.
Due to the unpopular response of netizens to Lea Salonga, the actress clarified in her succeeding tweets that she was not bashing anyone but she was talking about striking a balance between what is fun and serious.
The actress tweeted: “For those of you that replied about BALANCE, you rock my world. That’s what I was after. We all need fun, but that can’t be all there is,” she said.
