Lea Salonga is proud of Esang joining “Les Miserables”, this time in Singapore

Lea Salonga is proud of Esang, a former “The Voice Kids” alumna, upon finding out that the child is set again to play Little Cosette in the known musical “Les Miserables”, set this time in Singapore.

Lea felt the excitement upon knowing the news. In an interview, known singer expressed her delight, “You have no idea how proud I am of that child. And now she’s off and heading to Singapore to be part of the Asian touring production, and it’s a wonderful production, same as here in Manila. Now let’s see what happens.”

Lea is known to be Telesa “Esang” De Torres’ chosen coach in “The Voice Kids”. the child won as “The Voice Kids” season 2 second runner-up. Also, Esang first appeared in a segment of “Showtime” as the MiniMe of Lea Salonga. Undoubtedly, Lea is Esang’s ultimate idol.

“I’m still flabbergasted and the production team has said she’s wonderfully talented. We love having her in the company’ and I’m just like… you have no idea how proud I am of that kid, she’s really talented. She’s really special,” she added while taking pride of the kid’s talent.

Esang on the other hand said that she is very happy to perform as the Little Cosette in “Les Misérables” again and expressed her gratefulness to God for giving her such gift, her talent.

In an interview the child described how she auditioned and finally be admitted to play the role. She admits that her coach Lea helped her by reminding her what to do and not to. She describes it as a dream come true playing the role of Little Cosette. She added that this type of opportunity does not come often that idea alone makes her very thankful.

Esang previously played the same role in the Manila production and will be flying to Singapore this 27 May to join the rest of the cast.
