A letter of intent is similar to an inquiry letter which also called a letter of interest. One important thing to do is that it should be written in a professional way and indicates why you are fit for the company. Provide in the letter your qualifications and why you’re a strong candidate.

Here are some tips:

  • Use an appropriate format for your letter. Most formal letters is written in a block type of letter where all the details and paragraphs are justified to the left.
  • Be sure to research about the company you are applying to and understand their sense of culture, mission, and needs.
  • Show and tell your strongest qualifications and best credentials. Highlight these things to get your potential employer’s attention.
  • Proofread your letter before sending. Be sure there’s no misspelled words, wrong grammars, or errors in your format.
