Born in Madrid, Spain as Marian Rivera Gracia, she was welcomed by a Spaniard father, Francisco Javier Gracia Alonso, and a Filipina mother, Amalia Rivera, from Cavite. She’s the only child of the couple and Marian Rivera’s parents separated when she was just three (3) years old.
Marian grew up with her grandmother, Francisca Rivera, as her mom had to continue her work abroad. She was raised in Bacoor, Cavite. She had her elementary and secondary education at St. Francis of Assisi College System and she took Bachelor of Arts in Psychology degree in De La Salle University-Dasmariñas.
