Vice Ganda speaks about joining politics anew.
Is Vice Ganda now considering joining politics? The ABS-CBN superstar has this answer to the calls for her to be in public service.
Previously, Vice Ganda officially turned 50, and marked this day with an intimate birthday dinner in Angeles City with her close friends, including Petite, Lassy, MC Muah, Tonton, Divine Tetay, and Rhea Tan, as well as her mother Rosario Viceral and partner Ion Perez. This was followed by another intimate celebration with her immediate family.
In an interview, Vice was asked about retiring at 50 and expressed that this is currently not part of her plans. She is still on top of her game, and doing what she does now is something she has been obsessed with.
In the same interview, she was also asked again about joining politics and reiterated that she has no interest in this kind of public service. She is not considering the calls for her to run in the next national polls.
Vice shared that some public officials reach out to her from time to time to ask what she thinks about certain issues and added that even during PNoy’s administration, the late former president would often invite her and ask for her views.
She may not have an interest in joining politics, but making political jokes will always be in her DNA.
“Kung ika-cancel ninyo kami, sige. Kung mao-offend kayo, sige. We will just keep doing our thing. Magpapatawa kami. Kapag na-offend kayo, ma-offend kayo,” she expressed, and while doing this, she makes it a point to be mindful of what she says.
She knows that there are people who admire her courage in discussing politics on television, and this is her message for them: “Bahagi ng komedya ang satire. Tinatanggap ang satire bilang bahagi ng freedom of expression. Bago pa ako nag-mainstream, political na talaga ang jokes ko. Kapag political ang jokes mo, lagi kang may bagong jokes. Ang daming nangyayari sa paligid araw-araw so ang dami mong materyal.”
