Born on March 6, 1970, Gretchen Barretto’s real name is Gretchen Castelo Barretto. She is one of the seven (7) children of Miguel Alvir Barretto and Estrella Castelo Barretto and the older sister of fellow actresses Claudine Barretto and Marjorie Barretto. She is also the aunt of young Kapamilya actress Julia Barretto.
Gretchen is in a longtime relationship with business tycoon Tonyboy Cojuangco. They have a daughter named Dominique. She quit showbiz so she can be a full-time mom to her daughter. Gretchen Barretto’s age now is 51 years old.
It is no secret to the public that there are rifts among the Barretto siblings. Meanwhile, before the death of their patriarch, Claudine and Gretchen have settled their issue. The former actress and Marjorie are currently not in good terms but the two celebrities have stopped throwing shades against each other.
Gretchen Barretto’s Showbiz Career
Gretchen started her showbiz career as a singer-actress launched by the Regal Films. In the 1980s, she hooked the spotlight with her projects produced by Seiko Films including Ang Bukas Ay Akin, Lumayo Ka Man Sa Akin, and Bakit Ako Mahihiya. Under Star Records, she has released two (2) studio albums – Unexpected in 2008 and Complicated in 2009. Starting 2010, she is a talent of ABS-CBN Network.
Gretchen was part of several films including Eh, Kasi Bata and The Trial. When she had a family of her own, she started being inactive in showbiz as she wants to focus her time on her daughter.
