The top officials of the powerful Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) Church agreed on Monday to end the five-day mass action protest against the Department of Justice after talks with the national government. The ending of the 5-day protest was announced to the media by INC general minister Bienvenido Santiago.

In an official statement released by INC leaders through their Net 25 TV, a church-run broadcast network, they noted that “Nagkausap na po ang panig ng Iglesia at panig ng pamahalaan, nagkapaliwanagan na po ang dalawang panig,” INC general minister Bienvenido Santiago said in a statement.
The INC minister added further that “Ito pong ating isinagawang pagtitipon na sinimulan natin noong Huwebes ng hapon ay natatapos nang mapayapa rin ngayon pong Lunes ng umaga,” Santiago added.
The protest rally of the powerful INC church which is considered as one of the most powerful religious organization in the country started when the INC questioned an illegal detention complaint against eight members of the church council, or Sanggunian, filed by expelled minister Isaias Samson Jr. before the Department of Justice late August.
After a few hours of the official statement made by INC, Malacañang, in a statement, said that “[through] goodwill and the convergence of efforts, the rule of law has been upheld.”
“We appreciate the INC leadership’s directives for the withdrawal of their members from their gathering sites,” the statement, attributed to Palace spokesperson Edwin Lacierda, said.
