Motorcycle Rider Disappointed After Allegedly Being Ticketed & Having His Motorcycle Impounded

A motorcycle rider expressed disappointment after his motorcycle was allegedly ticketed and impounded during a checkpoint operation in Kalibo.

Recently, Ja Tandog, a Facebook user, shared his frustration after his motorcycle was impounded during a checkpoint conducted at a bridge in Kalibo. The post quickly went viral and drew various reactions online.

According to Tandog, who is a member of a local riding group, he was stopped at a checkpoint at around 7:45 a.m. near a bridge in Kalibo. He said he felt confident at the time because he had complete documents, including a valid driver’s license, updated registration papers, and other required papers for his motorcycle.

However, the authorities flagged his motorcycle’s muffler. The rider explained that it was an aftermarket power pipe and not the original stock part. He questioned the basis of the violation, saying it was treated as an illegal modification without what he believed was proper checking.

Ja also shared that he asked for a decibel meter test to determine if the exhaust sound was within the allowed legal limit set by transport regulations. Despite this request, he said the motorcycle was still impounded.

The rider added that he had no choice but to comply because he needed to leave right away to avoid being late for his classes. He also mentioned that he only had limited money at the time, which pushed him to settle the issue quickly.

To retrieve his motorcycle, he later went to the office and paid the penalty even though he still had concerns about the decision. He described the experience as frustrating, especially since he believed his motorcycle was legal and properly documented.

He shared the incident online hoping to raise awareness and help other riders who may experience similar checkpoint situations.
