Patient Escapes Private Hospital Without Paying Hospital Bill Amounting to P333K
A young patient reportedly left a private hospital without paying a hospital bill worth over P333,000 after slipping out of the facility with his sister.
The incident happened at Saint Gabriel Medical Center, Inc., where the 18-year-old patient, known as alias Joel from Buruanga, Aklan, had been confined since April 6, 2026. According to hospital security, the patient was already scheduled for discharge on May 30, 2026.
Based on CCTV footage, the patient and his sister were seen leaving the hospital around 6 in the evening on May 31 without permission. They were able to walk out of the facility unnoticed by staff at the time.
Hospital records showed that the total bill reached P333,956.07, which covered medical treatment and other hospital services during his stay. Despite the large amount, the patient reportedly left without settling the balance.
Security personnel later confirmed that the contact details and information provided by the siblings could no longer be reached. Calls and messages to the number they gave were unanswered or unreachable.
Hospital management has not yet released full details on the patient’s medical condition, but confirmed that proper discharge procedures were not fully completed before the patient left.
The incident has raised concern among hospital staff, especially regarding patient monitoring and discharge protocols. Private hospitals often require full settlement or proper arrangements before a patient can be released, especially in cases involving large medical bills.
Authorities are now looking into the matter, while the hospital is coordinating with concerned offices regarding the incident. For now, the location of the patient remains unknown.
