PAGASA Says Amihan and Localized Thunderstorms to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that the amihan and localized thunderstorms will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country.

On Saturday (February 4, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeast monsoon and localized thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather condition.

PAGASA reported that the Northeast Monsoon affecting Luzon. The localized thunderstorms will affect the other parts of the country.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy weather condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Visayas and Palawan including Kalayaan Islands as well as Mindanao.

The northeast monsoon will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with light rains over Occidental Mindoro, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

“Ngayong araw nga ay inaasahan natin na magiging maulap hanggang bahagyang maulap ang kalangitan dito sa buong bahagi ng bansa. Mayroon lang tayo mararanasang isolated na pag-ulan, pagkidlat at pagkulog dito sa bahagi ng Palawan, Visayas at Mindanao at mayroon rin tayong maasahan na mahihinang pag-ulan at pag-ambon sa [Luzon] dulot ng amihan,” Pagasa weather specialist Grace Castañeda said.

The weather agency has warned the public for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon and Visayas will be moderate to rough. Mindanao will have slight to moderate surrounding sea conditions, according to the weather bureau.
