Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Surigao del Norte, December 29, 2022
EARTHQUAKE TODAY – The Phivolcs recorded a 3.5 magnitude earthquake in Surigao del Sur, Thursday, December 29, 2022.
Following the 4.3 magnitude earthquake that jolted Maguindanao del Norte a few days ago, another strong quake was recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs). The quake hit a part of Surigao del Sur. According to the agency, it had a magnitude of 3.5.
The earthquake that struck Surigao del Sur today, December 29, 2022, was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Bayabas at 05:37 a.m.
According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Surigao del Sur was located at 09.27°North, 126.77°East – 064 km North 58° East of Bayabas with a depth of focus of 012 kilometers.
Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that no damages are expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the agency, no intensity as well as instrumental intensity were recorded of the said quake that hit Surigao del Sur.
