Senior Citizen Expresses Dismay After Being Scammed by Heartless Customer
A senior citizen running a small sari-sari store was scammed by a customer who fled without paying for the items purchased.
Recently, the Facebook page “The Publisher” shared a video of a senior citizen being scammed by a heartless customer. The post immediately spread like wildfire online and elicited comments from netizens.
In the video, the elderly man can be seen assisting a customer at his store. At first, everything seemed normal, like any typical transaction in a small shop. However, after receiving the goods, the customer suddenly ran off without paying, leaving the elderly vendor stunned and helpless.

The incident reportedly took place in Gulod Labac, Batangas City, where the customer was escaping through a nearby ferry route. According to the family, the store is the senior citizen’s primary source of income, especially as his wife fights a serious illness.
The small earnings are used for their daily needs, such as paying for electricity and buying food.
The incident reminds the elderly store owners, to be cautious when dealing with customers who purchase numerous items. Taking payment upfront might help prevent similar incidents.
The video emphasizes the challenges faced by senior citizens trying to earn a living despite difficult circumstances.
